Our Commitment
Journey to Root respects the dignity and privacy of every person we serve, support, or collaborate with. We only collect personal information that is genuinely needed to deliver our programs, respond to inquiries, and meet our legal duties as a registered civil society organization in Ethiopia.
Information We Hold
Depending on the relationship, this may include basic contact details, safeguarding and identity information required by law or funders, program participation records, and communication history. We never collect more than we need.
How We Use It
Personal information is used only to provide services, safeguard vulnerable people, report to authorities and funders as required, and communicate about our work. It is never sold, traded, or used for unrelated purposes.
Confidentiality
Matters shared with us by the women, children, adoptees, and families we walk alongside are treated as confidential and only disclosed where required to protect someone's safety or by law.
Your Rights
You may ask us at any time what information we hold about you and request that it be corrected or removed where appropriate. Our full policy, including retention periods and third-party sharing details, is being finalized and will be published here.
Questions
If you have questions about this policy or your personal information, please reach out through our Get Involved page.
